Home of Philmo Open Source Film Scanner

Philmo is an open source film scanner for 8-16mm films. Adaptable and expandable for different size reels, cameras, and even control systems. Software and driving hardware can be adapted for pre-existing scanners that are no longer supported. Ai assisted software can apply color corrections and touch ups in either autonomous or guided operation with examples provided. Able to be built and operated with minimal skills and strength.

Biographies

Past Future Cycles is operated by husband and wife team Dennis and Melissa Shelgren.

Dennis Shelgren is currently a student at the University of Advancing Technology with degree goals of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He has many years of experience in manufacturing computers and electronics for companies such as Apple, Hewlett Packard, and Jones Futuretech. He also has had industry experience in testing, including microprobing of live operating bridge chips, with hand made software to induce noise for compliance testing.

Melissa Shelgren is currently a Special Education Educator. She has extensive experience in Program Management. She’s excited to both use and explore the limits of current and local AI models.
